IMPORTANT NOTICE
Strike Authorization Meetings
Tuesday February 11, 2003
Wyndham Inn -  Across Rt. 93 from the Tage Inn

Meeting one - 8:00 a.m.
Meeting two - 1:00 p.m.
Meeting three - 4:00 p.m.

The company has decided to violate our contract once again by not allowing our negotiators to use their contractually based Union Business days. Our negotiators are being forced to work 6 days a week, while only getting paid for 5. We as a whole need our negotiating team fresh and rested to negotiate with the company. The letter from Mike Lech a few weeks ago told us that they needed flexibility from the MDC workforce, I think maybe it's time to see the flexibility of the people running this company by giving them the opportunity to pick beef for a few days. Give our negotiating team the ability to bargain a fair contract by unanimously approving a strike action against this unfair practice. A vote to strike is a vote for unity.

_________________________________________________________

Now that we're back to the business of running this site, there are a couple of issues that need to be addressed.

Management associates should not be allowed to "negotiate" our contract inside the building. If any member is cornered by a management employee and asked what kind of benefits they would like in the contract, respectfully inform them that you have a negotiating team that has been given the member's contract issues, and that if they wish to get that information they should contact the negotiating team. You may also respectfully inform this person that the company should make every attempt to negotiate this contract in good faith. One last thought on this topic... Management in the MDC is only here because we are. Without us, There is no them.
